Hey Loves! We’re our making crispy chicken wing recipe tonight since it is quick and simple to make. It’s been rough around here with a teething baby. Madison is getting her top front teeth in and Yikes! it’s not going as smoothly as her bottom two. The bottom two came in when she was only 4months old, she just turned 7months two days ago (I did an instagram post you can check out.) Before this she has never been this cranky and needy, EVER.
For the last week or so we (when I say “we” I mostly mean Morgan, he’s the amazing chef around here) have been opting to make quick and simple meals and thought we would share one with you guys. Also we wanted to try one of the new spices we got on our anniversary trip to Portsmouth, NH. (If you have yet to read that post i’ll link it here.) This is the simplest crispy chicken recipe, just a dry rub in the air fryer… like it’s stupid simple and quick. It’s perfect if you are rushed for time or if you really don’t feel like cooking but don’t want to order in either. So let’s get to it shall we.

You will need: (measurements are based on 8 chicken wings so if you make more then adjust accordingly)
As many chicken wings as you’d like to make (we did 8)
2tb of butter (melted)
Any type of dry rub you’d like to use
Cooking Spray
Air Fryer or Oven (this is the air-fryer we use)
We start off by rinsing our chicken in the sink with water and patting it dry with paper towels
- If you are using the air fryer you can place you chicken on a plate or cutting board like we did with paper towels down
- If you are using an oven you can spray any oven safe pan you have with cooking spray and place your dry chicken on there
After your chicken is dry melt your butter in the microwave until its liquid – make sure not to heat for too long. Once melted, brush the butter on both sides of the chicken
Then you take whatever rub you chose to use and sprinkle it on both sides of the chicken. We used a blackening rub from a little store in Portsmouth NH called Stock + Spice. It has a little kick to it but not overly spicy, but I do like mine to have a little more heat than this.
After you have coated both sides of your chicken spray your air fry basket with cooking spray and place in
- 400F for 18 minutes – flip chicken over half way through
- If you are using an oven: 400F for 45 minutes – flip chicken over half way through
And it’s that simple.. just add some sides if you wish and you’re golden.
I’d love to hear from you, what are your simple and easy recipes? Also any tips and tricks on teething, Mama could use the help?!
Chef Boy’R Morgan! Love the link to Stock + Spice. Good prices. Will definitely be shopping there, and some of the other neat links you have posted on your LIKEtoKNOW.it page,
