Hi Friends! It has been HOTTT lately here in Boston where I live. It’s just now starting to cool off a little bit. I have been trying out some new products that I honestly did not think I was going to like all that much but have pleasantly surprised me. I am big on skincare, I always say your makeup is only as good as your skin is. I am a true believer in order to have a really good makeup application you need to have a good skincare routine. Not to mention aging, it’s just good for you all across the board to have some kind of skincare routine whether it be budget friendly or on the higher end. As long as you are using the products that are geared toward your concerns and your skin type, no need to shop outside of your means.
I have been in the beauty industry for many years and one thing I really do miss is being able to help someone become more confident in themselves. It’s not just making someone look other than who they are but accenting the features they already love or helping to brighten where they feel is dull. Guys, I could go on and on about how passionate I am for this industry and how moving and powerful it can be.
Let’s get to it, I have all these products linked in my Shop if you are interested in trying any of the products I’ve mentioned but I will say they are a bit of a splurge. I will try to link more of a budget friendly option on the shop page as well. I will also link the individual items as I go to make it easier for you.
Typically my skin type is dry but ever since having Madison is been more normal/dry. I will do another post on what would be good for oily to combo skin for those of you who do not have dry/normal/combo skin type.

I normally start my day off by cleansing my face, I know a lot of people who don’t do a morning cleanse because they cleanse at night. You would still want to cleanse in the morning to get all the extra oils and fibers you might have collected on your face during your sleep. I just wouldn’t do a double cleanse (double cleanse: cleanse once with face wipe and then go in again with a stronger cleanser). I forgot to take a picture of the cleanser I have been using but it’s the Kate Somerville Exfolikate Daily Cleanser. It’s not bad but I’m not loving it either, I’m almost done with it so I’ll most likely move back over to Origins Checks and Balances cleanser.
After I cleanse I go in with my Sunday Riley Good Genes, it just makes your skin look so smooth and porcelain like… it’s *chefs kiss. If you have more of a sensitive skin only do this once or twice a week or you can even just do it as a mask and leave it on for 20 mins and rinse off. My skin isn’t on the sensitive side so I use it daily. *Make sure you do NOT use this under your eye*
Next I’ll do my Drunk Elephant LaLa Retro moisturizer, this one is a bit thicker which I like but if you like a more thinner consistency this one ain’t it. Drunk Elephant does have a thinner one called Protini but if you’re more oily then I would recommend either Tatcha Water Cream or Farmacy Daily Green Gel moisturizer.
After that I use the Tula Protect and Glow Sunscreen. If there is one thing to know about me is I LIVE for a good glow, I love love love a good dewy look. So Tula is often talked up so much in the influencer world with that it can go either way, it’s so good everyone needs to have it and loves it OR it’s just being pushed because they’ve reached out for the exposure. Well I decided to try them to find out for myself and LET ME TELL YOUUUU, AMAZING! The glow, the hydration, the way your skin looks is so smooth looking. Like I said before pleasantly surprised, the hype is real!
After the sunscreen I use the Tula Rose Glow & Get It Eye Stick and this one is ok, nothing to write home about. It nice, not overly glowy but does feel cool on your skin, I just wish it felt more hydrating. The convenience of it is really nice because it’s in a stick form and you don’t to stick your fingers in any jars or waste any q-tips. Personally I love the Glam Glow Brighteye better for me.
Last step is the Tula Filter Primer. This shits the bomb. It’s gives you a nice blur on the skin but the glow is so good too. It does really hold my makeup on all day, on the rare occasion that I put make up on these days. Not sure how it does with oily skin though sense I’m more dry, if you have tried this and are on the more oily side let me know what you think of it. Does it hold your makeup on well?
What’s your skincare routine? Will you be changing up your products for the fall season? Have you been using skincare for a while or is this something totally new for you? Let me know, I’d love to hear some feeding back on what you guys have been doing or if you’ve tried any of these products.
